The role

The Account Manager sits within the Advertising Client Service team, under the leadership of the Account Director. It’s a key role within the advertising team, which is responsible for managing client relationships, and developing the business and commercial potential of a group of the agency’s clients.

The Account Manager should focus on providing leadership and direction on all aspects of mobile advertising for the client’s business, including its integration with other offline channels. The vision and action plan for the year will be outlined in the client’s annual account development plan, which will be reviewed on an ongoing basis throughout the year. This should form the basis of a wider plan to build and deepen Somo’s relationship with the client.

With the large volume of gaming clients within the agency, a deep understanding of the industry is desirable.

Principle responsibilities and accountabilities

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver the following results under the 3 Ps of Profits, Products and People:

Profits:

  • Assist the Head of International Account Management to retain and grow the client portfolio by successfully up-selling media and cross selling additional Somo services
  • Demonstrate strategic influence on business development as per agreed Business Plans
  • Monitor service levels, continually deliver and improve campaign KPIs
  • Report and manage client portfolio commercial/profitability status on monthly basis

Products:

  • Strengthen client relationship and be knowledgeable about their marketing objectives
  • Host regular client meetings and catch ups
  • Host entertainment of clients in account portfolio
  • Develop Business Plans with roadmap to deliver insight and strategies for clients
  • Ensure delivery of client objectives by Somo’s operations team
  • Ensure best practice and quality control regarding internal framework and processes
  • Positive client feedback on Service Level Agreements

People:

  • Positive feedback from Somo teams regarding working process and internal framework
  • Motivated colleagues and examples of innovation from team 

Skills and experience

  • First and foremost, client service relationship skills
  • Presence and positivity to build and maintain meaningful relationships at multiple levels within organisations
  • Proven ability up-sell & cross-sell media & additional services
  • Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial & innovative environment
  • Ability to problem solve and think creatively
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong project management skills
  • Numeric, with a strong attention to detail including a good grasp of the power of data analytics
  • Digital marketing experience, ideally within a full service agency
  • Mobile marketing experience desirable, a keen interest in the industry a minimum
  • Gambling industry experience desirable
  • Strong planning experience – evidence of having overseen and driven forward a planning process across a large and virtual team
  • Good experience of the offline world in order to guide the client and work effectively with their offline agency
  • Excellent, proven people skills & experience
